About Denise M. Olson, MD

Dr. Olson grew up near Grand Rapids, Michigan. She received her BS degree at Western Michigan University and then attended Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Her obstetrics and gynecology residency training years were done at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident. Dr. Olson was recently awarded the Department of Biological Sciences Alumni Achievement Award from the College of Arts and Sciences of Western Michigan University. Dr. Olson joined the Durham Women’s Clinic in 1993.

Dr. Olson practices office gynecologic care, including office gynecologic procedures. She has enjoyed caring for women and their daughters throughout her many years at Durham Women’s Clinic.

Dr. Olson has two grown sons, two dogs and four “granddogs”. Her interests outside of medicine include tennis, gardening, piano, travel, fossil hunting, reading, and genealogy.
