Genetic Testing and Screening

You want nothing more than to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. At UWH of The Carolinas, we want that for you. Genetic testing and screening done at one of our care centers can help us, and you, better understand whether genetic factors may be impacting your baby’s development. Testing typically screens for changes in the baby’s genes, chromosomes, or proteins.

The screening can confirm or rule out any suspected genetic conditions you or your partner might pass on to your baby. Since this can be an emotional experience, our healthcare professionals will always be right there for you, offering you information about the benefits and challenges of genetic testing and screening, supporting you, and guiding you each step of the way.

Follow-up Visit (Problem / Complication)

Dr Olney wanted to make sure a pessary was not irritating my vaginal area and that I was successfully wearing it to help support a Restocele that I had found recently. In addition being over 70 i was dealing with vaginal dryness and ended up with an extremely irritated labia that needed to be watched and treated. She took the time to help me navigate this problem as well.
