Dr. Stacy Travis, a native of Kentucky, received her Bachelors of Science degree at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. She received the Murray State University Presidential Scholarship, a prestigious four-year full academic scholarship. From there, she attended medical school at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Kentucky. Having selected a career in obstetrics and gynecology, she headed to Texas where she completed her internship and residency at the University of Texas – Southwestern at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
After working with Carolina Ob-Gyn Care in Spartanburg, South Carolina, she and Dr. Saltzman founded Biltmore Ob-Gyn in 1995.

I have been fortunate to be a patient of Dr Travis's for over 23 years. She cared for me during the pregnancy of my second son and was always caring, kind and genuinely interested in my well being and the well being of my unborn child. I had hoped she would deliver my son, but I went into labor unexpectedly over 3 weeks early, and she was not on call. However, I feel like she was there with me due to the number of hours we spent together before that day! She will be my gynecologist until she retires! Asheville is blessed to have her. In addition, the staff is always caring, patient and kind.

I have been seeing Dr Travis and PA Nan since the 90s. Although I’m not a fan of the exams, they make them worth the visit. It was good to have my last checkup with Dr Travis. I didn’t plan to have a mammogram but Dr Travis suggested and I’m glad she did. I was able to have done after I saw her. Glad I’m done for the year. Dr Travis has been an awesome (and Nan).
