Follow-up Visit (Problem / Complication)

Dr Olney wanted to make sure a pessary was not irritating my vaginal area and that I was successfully wearing it to help support a Restocele that I had found recently. In addition being over 70 i was dealing with vaginal dryness and ended up with an extremely irritated labia that needed to be watched and treated. She took the time to help me navigate this problem as well.

IUD Insertion / Removal

This was my first IUD insertion in my life. I felt like the information given about my IUD was rushed, and pain management options were presented in a dismissive fashion. Women's pain matters (this place--women treating women!--should respect that), and IUD insertion is extremely painful for many women. I felt like my concerns over the pain were not taken seriously, but I decided that I might be building up the pain in my mind and it wouldn't be a big deal, so I went ahead with the procedure. Nope. It hurt. And I bled a lot. I spoke with friends following the procedure who said they were shocked that pain management was not recommended or presented in a more encouraging way, especially with this being my first IUD insertion. I am considering changing providers.
