Dr. Stacey Olney, originally from East Tennessee, attended Emory University for her Bachelors in Science in Biology. She worked in women’s health research at Wake Forest University after graduation and then went on to receive a Master’s of Science Degree in Nutrition with a concentration in breastfeeding from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She attended medical school at Albany Medical School where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
She joined the United States Navy prior to attending medical school and completed her OB/GYN residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. She completed tours of duty as a staff OB/GYN at Naval Hospital Guam and Naval Hospital Camp LeJeune and was awarded the Naval Achievement and Naval Commendation medals for her time in service.
She obtained board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2012 and is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

I had many issues I wanted to discuss with Dr Olney, and she patiently allowed me to discuss some of my problems and anxieties with many of post menopausal issues. I was able to to get some possible solutions to o one of my problems, and I'm hoping on a return visit in a month, will be able to try a pessary and hopefully get some relief for a new problem that i am encountering at age 70. Although it is not an uncommon issue in women who have undergone hysterectomies and had children, it was a relief to speak with Dr. Olney about how I was feeling emotionally with my problem and she reassured me I would be all right and that there are many ways to deal with my problem. A very easy to talk to physician, who does listen to you concerns.

Dr Olney is so personable, and seems to really care about me as a patient and a person. I'm post menopausal, and have vaginal dryness. Having the pelvic exam done was quite painful. I'm wondering if using lubricant would have made it less painful.
