Shykiya “Shy” Tillman is a native of Ahoskie, North Carolina. She joined the Chapel Hill OB/GYN team in 2021.

She is an alumna of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree. After graduation, she worked for four years within an emergency department where she served both adult and pediatric patients.

Her desire for learning and ambition to provide quality patient centered care led her back to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received a Master’s of Science in Nursing degree, Family Nurse Practitioner specialty. After graduating, she participated in the Carolina Nurse Practitioner Residency Program, which focused on the integration of behavioral health within primary care.

In collaboration with the Carolina Nurse Practitioner Residency, she served rural area North Carolinians as a family nurse practitioner in Dunn, NC.

Shy’s special interest areas include health throughout the lifespan, the intersection of behavioral health and women’s health, and the advancement of overall health of marginalized populations.

In 2017, Shy married her best friend, Frank, a clinical psychiatric pharmacist. Together they have one daughter and a dog. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, watching home improvement television, and spending quality time with family.

Teri is the best. Been going to her for many years. Never had an unpleasant visit. You feel like ur visiting a friend. Never felt anxious about any visit. No one could ask for a more professional , caring person. I miss the old A Woman’s View . Does not have the same class and quality of care. But Terry has not changed. Still has kept her caring and professional demeanor. I could go on about Terri ,but I’ll sign off for now.

I have been slacking and not been to an OB since I had my child (almost 3) dr. Reeves and his assistant that took vitals etc remembered (or took the time and effort to look up last notes).
