Dr. Taam-Akelman is a native of Ithaca, New York. She attended Cornell University for her undergraduate degree and the Medical University of South Carolina for her medical degree and OB/GYN residency. Prior to joining Lyndhurst she worked as an OBGYN in Greensboro, NC. Dr. Taam-Akelman enjoys providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care for patients of all ages to help them meet their healthcare goals. Her particular interests include: preventative health, contraceptive counseling, preconception planning, obstetric care, vaginal birth after cesarean section (VBAC), and minimally invasive surgery. She is trained in hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, robotic, and vaginal surgery. In her free time, she enjoys running, yoga, cooking, and spending time with her husband and dog.

My first time with this Dr. she was kind but seemed hurried -- I do not want to discuss medical questions with the nurse and the Dr come in answering those questions while I lay naked on the table -- I would prefer dressing and then talking about any concerns or questions I might have and to get medical feedback (I did have a couple of questions that I did not ask because I truly thought the Dr would return) -- after a couple of minutes I went out and asked the desk worker if I was supposed to leave and she said yes and pointed to the exit door.
