Pelvic Pain

Everyone was very nice and informative. My problem was not what I thought and Leslie explained thoroughly what was wrong, the medication she prescribed and exactly how I was to use it and how long with a 3 month follow-up appt. She noticed that I had not had and mammogram or a pelvic exam since 2021. She also sent me to the desk to schedule both of these exams. I was very pleased at how took care of all the appts that I needed to schedule.

Gynecological Problem Visit

I came in for severe pelvic pain, irregular bleeding that had been going on for months and getting worse, painful periods that impacted my quality of life, painful ovulation, bleeding that would last weeks, nausea for months that made it very difficult to eat or drink. They found an ovarian cyst and told me that could cause all of this and a fibroid they weren’t worried about. I was put on a 3 month birth control which sent me to the ER for worsening symptoms and extreme bleeding, migraines and worsening nausea. The ER doc told me it was the birth control causing this (I was taking it the same time everyday for a week). At my follow up I felt like I wasn’t being heard. Whenever I said my symptoms were lasting for months she looked surprised even though I told her that the last few visits. I feel like she didn’t take me seriously. Now the cause wasn’t the cyst she just didn’t know so she prescribed me a 10 day birth control to slow the bleeding. After reading the side effects I read that a lot of women experienced bleeding and migraines which is what was crippling me so when I asked if this is a possibility and I didn’t want to go to the ER a 3rd time for worsening symptoms she didn’t get back to me. I was pretty much ghosted after I sent a message to nurse Michelle explaining in detail everything that was going on because I felt like she wasn’t listening to me and I had to repeat myself a lot. I didn’t want to start a new prescription if it would worsen my symptoms and I wanted to know what the goal from this was and what happens next because the pain and symptoms were affecting my life. I just never heard back. I had so many ultrasounds that I’m sure will be expensive after this all adds up. I was STD tested twice even though I’m happily married with one partner. It was sort of insulting to have a second one done “just to be sure” I really wanted to be evaluated for endometriosis because I know people who have it and really had to push for a diagnostic and the symptoms match mine so whenever I asked about this she sort of dismissed it and just kept wanting to try birth control even though I told her it makes me feel very sick and I was talking to my husband about having another baby early next year. So this really made me sad because I keep getting put on meds and I still don’t know what’s going on. I have no answers and this process has been mentally exhausting and expensive with all the visits and ER trips. All of that just to get ignored at the end and left in the dark. I’m very disappointed with my care. I love this practice and the doctors and nurses have all been wonderful but I’m really disappointed with how this was handled.
