Leah Alfino, FNP-C, IBCLC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and an international board certified lactation consultant at Lakeshore Women’s Specialists, PC. She joined the team in December of 2018 and serves patients living in and around Davidson, Huntersville, Lake Norman, and Mooresville, North Carolina. Leah provides obstetric, gynecological, and lactation care to her patients.

Leah values the opportunity to establish and build a comfortable and trusting relationship with her patients while providing thorough, compassionate care.

Leah is originally from Southwest Virginia but has resided in North Carolina for the last 22 years. Prior to coming to Lakeshore Women’s Specialists, she worked as an OB nurse and lactation consultant at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center for 18 years.

Leah and her husband live in Huntersville with their son and daughter. Leah loves spending free time with her family, traveling to watch her son play basketball, and running.

OB Care

My appointment was scheduled for 3:15 and I was not seen u til 4:45. Apparently, in another room a procedure had problems but I was only informed of this over an hour after waiting. I generally love my PA and Doctor at Lakeshore (Melissa & Karen) so this was usually for sure and I know things happen, I just think this was not a time it was handled well. Also, after waiting for so long in the room, we were interrupted 2x by other staff seeming impatient to be done with the day. Communication with the staff just seemed poor between each other and with me. This was all unfortunate because I’ve also been having some syncope issues your office referred me to a cardiologist for as they did not have any answers for me and this seemed to be breezed over. I’m not sure if you guys read these surveys or not either but next appointment I will be 30 weeks pregnant and have yet to meet one of the doctors who could deliver my baby? I’m not sure if this is normal or not but it has me feeling kind of uncomfortable.
