Dr. Kesty joined Lyndhurst Gynecologic Associates in September of 2019 after completing her residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She was born and raised in northern Ontario, Canada, then received her bachelors degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in Minnesota, where her father was raised. She then attended Wake Forest Bowman Gray School of Medicine, where two sisters were simultaneously attending. Having moved south for residency, she was happy to return to Winston-Salem after training. She is a Junior Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and her professional interests include contraceptive counseling, high-risk obstetrics, vulvar dermatology, robotic and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and urogynecology. In her free time, Dr. Kesty enjoys running, biking, traveling, spending time with her family, and finding new places to swim.

Gynecological Problem Visit

I was dissatisfied because I was left waiting in the virtual room for 25 mins. The on screen tips said to put phone on do not disturb. It instructed to keep waiting and told me the provider knew I was online. I had to be in WiFi to do this. Then the Lyndhurst office calls me on phone to see if I am ready for my appointment. I miss the call due to the directions given by the app. My appointment was at 3:15. I got someone on the phone after calling different numbers. The number they called from didn’t have caller ID. Then, I talked to nurse about frustration with online visit. The dr called me back later at 3:52. Why do you have the online room set up if you are not going to use it?! I should have been told - Dr will call you from 3-4 pm versus the app telling me to wait online as an option. Very frustrating experience.

I have been consistently satisfied with the care I have received from Dr. Kesty and her nursing staff. I would encourage the practice to consider having more materials/items throughout the office focused on women who other than those who are pregnant/postpartum, as I have noticed each time I have attended an appointment that most of the decorations, reading material/brochures, informational "commercials" on the tvs, etc. seem to be focused specifically on pregnancy. As someone who is not partnered and has chronic medical concerns likely to complicate any potential chance of pregnancy/childbirth and has dreamed of having children since I was tiny, it can certainly lead to feeling out of place when I don't see myself or people who may have similar journeys represented in the environment. While I know a large majority of the patients seen are likely addressing concerns related to childbirth/pregnancy/postpartum, I would assume that there are also many women who may not be able to have children, who may be struggling to conceive/address fertility concerns, who are in perimenopause/menopause, etc. etc. Just something to consider.

Non Stress Test (NST)

Dr. Kesty is kind, patient and thorough with answering my questions. Not once have I felt silly or concerned with asking a question I didn't know the answer to. She also delivered my first child and did phenomenal. Which is why I am so thankful that she allowed me to request her this pregnancy also, and is coming in on a day she usually does not.
