Dr. Simmons then attended LSU Medical School in Shreveport, LA where she earned her medical degree in 2018, receiving an award for excellence in OBGYN. She went on to complete her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA earning distinction in laparoscopic surgery in 2021. She enjoys cooking, being outdoors, playing tennis and spending time with her husband and her dog.

Dr. Katelyn Simmons was concerned about my current issues . Since I don’t have a Primary Physician she ordered blood work ( I had no idea I could receive this service here) . Results were not in my favor so I am definitely getting a Family Physician ASAP!

Staff is friendly and very professional. I didn’t have a long wait. Dr. Simmons was very professional and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions, gave advice and provided a referral for pelvic therapy. She did not rush the visit. I enjoyed the visit. Also, I did miss seeing Dr. Masciello! He is the best!

Endometrial Biopsy

1) Scheduling: ultrasound immediately followed by doctor visit, in which procedure indicated by ultrasound was performed, and then immediate blood draw, also indicted by ultrasound. Very efficient 2) Communication: ultrasound technician gave me a head’s up about what she was seeing and therefore what doc was likely to do, so I had time to go through some emotions and prepare. Told Emma little bit about what the procedure would be like. Doc did the same, explained everything as she was doing it, didn’t lie about the level of “discomfort.” 3) Humanity: from front desk all the way through, including nurse, ultrasound tech, doc, people were professional but friendly, humorous, and kind. Both doc and ultrasound tech were quick to place what they were seeing along a continuum of concern that felt honest to me.
