Elita Wyckoff, MD, FACOG, is one of the many talented obstetricians and gynecologists at Cary OB/GYN, with offices in both Cary and nearby Morrisville, North Carolina. With patients, she’s known for being both professional and highly personable.

Dr. Wyckoff earned her Bachelor of Science from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, and her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. After that, she briefly headed north to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she completed her residency at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Today, Dr. Wyckoff is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and she’s a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Before moving to Cary with her husband Shannon and their children, Dr. Wyckoff practiced in Gastonia, North Carolina, for several years. Now settled in Cary, when she is not providing patients the best care possible, Dr. Wyckoff enjoys traveling, running, volunteering, and spending time with her family.

OB Care

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Wyckoff. While her nurse was friendly and attentive, Dr. Wyckoff herself was not very personable. She commented on what she considered "excessive weight gain," despite every other appointment—and even previous discussions about weight—being completely normal. It was disheartening and felt dismissive, especially as someone who has struggled with eating disorders their entire life. Additionally, she seemed bothered that our little baby was kicking during the heartbeat check, which should be a joyful moment. Her bedside manner left much to be desired, and instead of leaving feeling excited after hearing my baby's heartbeat, I left in tears. Every other OB I’ve seen at this facility has been wonderful, so this experience was especially disappointing. I expected compassionate care, and unfortunately, that was not what I received.

I sincerely love and appreciate Dr. Wyckoff. She is phenomenal and very attentive to my needs. Unfortunately, I may very well DISCONTINUE with this practice due to the REQUIREMENT of leaving an open-ended credit card on file. I have historically paid all bills ON TIME with this practice. The fact that I am being held accountable for those that do not is insulting. I will now request a new credit card after my visit last week.
