Dr. Trollip moved to Rocky Mount, NC at the age of 8 where she quickly fell in love with the state of North Carolina. She went on to attend Medical School at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She completed her residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Trollip is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the North Carolina Medical Society. She is married and has two children, one boy and one girl. When not seeing patients, you can find Dr. Trollip singing in the choir, running, and walking her Great Dane.

Routine Pregnancy / Prenatal Appointment

Ultimately, Dr Trollip took good care of me, however there were a few instances over the last two visits that I felt I was being dismissed or rushed through the appointment. She didn’t ask if I had any questions, I had to stop her from walking out of the door, and then was dismissive of questions I had about data related to cervical dilation/effacement. Second visit I had to ask for a fundal height measurement and felt like my concerns were not taken seriously at first. Like I said, she ultimately took good care of me, answered questions, etc, but I felt like I had to advocate for myself more than I would have liked to.

Dr. Trollip is just the best! I had an unusually difficult, and subsequently painful, IUD removal (it's my 3rd IUD, so I have a base for comparison, and the other 2 were easy ). The problems with removal lead to an especially painful attempt at insertion of the new IUD. When it became obvious that it was becoming too much for me to handle, Dr. Trollip stopped everything to give me a few minutes break, and gave me the option of having a local anesthetic injected in my cervix, which I accepted and after which the procedure was just uncomfortable. She was incredibly kind and encouraging throughout the entire process.
