Dr. Arlene Pak joined our practice in August 2017. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and earned her medical degree at the Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Pak completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Duke University School of Medicine.

Dr. Pak has a passion for caring for women throughout their lives and finds helping women through their pregnancies and welcoming healthy babies into this world to be most rewarding. She believes in preventative healthcare and empowering women to be active participants in their overall health and wellbeing.

Even though Dr. Pak was born and raised in the paradise state of Hawaii; after relocating to North Carolina for her residency, she fell in love with our great state and decided to make it her forever home along with her husband, 2 children, and the family beagle Rocky.

Due to a patient's delay or late for 30 minutes. I have to wait for 1 hours or so to see Dr. Pak. I don't mind waiting but I have to get to my little boy's school and pick him up too.

Pap Smear

Dr. Pak reviewed my record in advance and was aware that PAP smear tests have, in the past, been extremely painful. Her aide told me before Dr. Pak even entered the room that Dr. Pak advised her in advance about the specific instruments she wanted laid out for the procedure. Dr. Pak was reassuring and gentle - it was the least painful PAP test I think I have ever had.

Follow-up

I had a transvaginal ultrasound due to heavy menstrual bleeding. I was nervous because I hadn't had one before. I want to recognize Michelle my sonographer for making the uncomfortable comfortable. I can tell Dr. Pak really wanted to take care of my problem promptly. She was able to remove it in office. Thanks Dr Pak, Michelle, the medical assistants and one awesome student who rubbed my hand while I was in pain (I appreciate her kindness most of all, I didn't get a chance to thank her). I wish I remembered everyone's name, good work team!
