Dr. Arlene Pak joined our practice in August 2017. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and earned her medical degree at the Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Pak completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Duke University School of Medicine.

Dr. Pak has a passion for caring for women throughout their lives and finds helping women through their pregnancies and welcoming healthy babies into this world to be most rewarding. She believes in preventative healthcare and empowering women to be active participants in their overall health and wellbeing.

Even though Dr. Pak was born and raised in the paradise state of Hawaii; after relocating to North Carolina for her residency, she fell in love with our great state and decided to make it her forever home along with her husband, 2 children, and the family beagle Rocky.

Dr. Pak was very brief in her assessment and did not ask more than 2 questions about my issue. She did not listen to my concerns or address them. She quickly decided a treatment plan that was not reviewed with me.

Dr. Pak is warm, but efficient and to the point, which I appreciate. She was right on time and the appointment moved quickly, but felt like I really had her full focus and I could have taken more of her time had I needed to. I had a very good experience with all of the staff at this location. I was waiting on a test kit to be delivered and as soon as it came in I received a call. This rarely, if ever, happens at other offices. Everyone was very pleasant. The office was welcoming.

I felt like the provider was not completely concerned with my pain. I felt like she could have gone further, and when I suggested an ultrasound, she didn’t feel like it was warranted, even though I was having extreme pain she made me feel like she was really basing her decision on what she read on a CT report other than doing all that need to be done to make sure that something new hadn’t developed since my Last ultrasound earlier in the year. After sharing this information with my primary care provider, she felt that it was warranted and has referred me to another gynecologist for a second opinion with an ultrasound included.

I met with a different provider due to Dr. Collins schedule. Based on current feedback/questionnaire prior to meeting with provider (brain fog, irritability, weight gain and based on previous years exam and referral for pelvic PT), I thought the provider would at least ask about current challenges and symptoms. Dr. Pak did not, she seemed hurried and when I asked about genetic test results and how these are typically communicated, she definitely spoke to me like I had no clue what she was discussing. I have a healthcare background, not that this matters; however, Dr. Pak just continued to talk in circles and not address my questions. Finally realized it wasn’t worth continuing the conversation.
