A native of Long Beach, New York (and proud of it!), Dr. Segal relocated to North Carolina in 1994. He attended medical school at SUNY at Stony Brook School of Medicine in Stony Brook, NY. He went on to complete his residency at the University of North Carolina Memorial Hospital at Chapel Hill. Fluent in Spanish, he is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the North Carolina Medical Society and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Segal resides in the area with his wife, Anne, and his 3 children, 2 girls and a boy. In his spare time he enjoys cycling, spending time with family, and traveling.

My appointment was for 8:00am but I was not seen until 8:20am. Not sure I understand why if I am the first patient that the doctor can already be behind. Dr. Segal is nice but every year I run into the same issue.

I love the location, closer to home. The staff was very friendly, the office was clean and offered mints, crackers, and mini soda cans in waiting area. I always look forward to my annual appointments with Dr. Alan Segal. I have been a patient of his for over 20 years. He is very professional and understands the stages of life within Woman health care. His nurse was also very professional and kind.

I called on Monday and was able to get an appointment on Wednesday, which was super quick. Dr. Segal is always so warm and welcoming, and I've seen him for years. He had some good suggestions for treatments to look into for my pelvic floor and got me in to do testing for the Brca gene now that it's much cheaper in cost. I do think that these appointments sometimes get rushed so I wish we had a little more time, as I realized when I read the notes that they still have my old PCP in there as well as old medications I used to take. And I learned that whoever scheduled my appointment should have automatically scheduled me for a mammogram as well, which didn't happen- they luckily squeezed me in at the last minute, which worked out.
