Dr. Arlene Pak joined our practice in August 2017. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and earned her medical degree at the Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Pak completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Duke University School of Medicine.

Dr. Pak has a passion for caring for women throughout their lives and finds helping women through their pregnancies and welcoming healthy babies into this world to be most rewarding. She believes in preventative healthcare and empowering women to be active participants in their overall health and wellbeing.

Even though Dr. Pak was born and raised in the paradise state of Hawaii; after relocating to North Carolina for her residency, she fell in love with our great state and decided to make it her forever home along with her husband, 2 children, and the family beagle Rocky.

Endometrial Biopsy

I saw Dr Pak because Dr Vera was on maternity leave. I really like Dr Vera so wasn’t thrilled about seeing another Dr I didn’t know with the apt. My ultrasound tech was Amazing and Dr Pak was exceptional. She was very thorough and when I asked questions, she was sweet and explained everything and made sure I didn’t have any other questions.

Dr Pak was great as usual but my mammogram was painful. Last year it was painful too but I didn’t say anything but this time both of my breast was pressed so hard I almost cried. I know mammograms are not comfortable and I’ve had do many done but techinician is not that gentle. I think I’m going somewhere else next year.

I have been a patient of this practice for many years. I had 4 kids with the practice. I unfortunately had a terrible experience. I felt like I wasn't allowed to ask questions and any answers that were provided were highly unclear. I was very frustrated when I felt like I was being pressured to give a diagnosis or recommend next steps. I am not an MD so I don't know why I was being asked for a medical opinion on something I know nothing about. The doctor left the room when I had questions left and said she would be back. When she came back she opened the door, didn't come into the room handed me a paper and made it obvious I needed to go. I was humiliated when the doctor shared details of a test I was having done in the hallway.

Dr. Pak was very brief in her assessment and did not ask more than 2 questions about my issue. She did not listen to my concerns or address them. She quickly decided a treatment plan that was not reviewed with me.
